"635 Steps of Resistance"- outdoor instillation 2017
Stretching over 7 city blocks in downtown Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada, "635 Steps of Resistance" is a series of stenciled paintings of Metis leaders Louis Riel and Gabriel Dumont created by John, using detailed stencils created by his sister Terri McDonald. This piece was a pop-up instillation in conjunction with a nearby mural created by Jayde Wizwon Goodon. The name comes from the number of paces from the first stenciled piece to the last. Special thanks to the City of Prince Albert for their assistance with this project.
